It is hard to believe our first month at the new farm has already come to a close. Each day that passes brings us a little closer to being settled, but there is still SO much to be done. I have to continually remind myself that it took close to a year to get our last farm to our particular standards, and it is NOT realistic to expect our new farm to get that way in a month.
Regardless, we have accomplished a LOT. Our farm family has come a long ways from where we started - Robyn, myself, and the occasional help from my husband. These days we have a small army to make things happen, and I am still shocked at how much easier things can be when we pool our efforts!
Our new stall boarder arrived a few days before the new year, and their gelding settled in without a hitch. We still have two stall spots we are advertising, but I know the right fit is just around the corner.
I have taken up a new hobby, and am learning the art of body clipping. It seems my years of classical piano have led to a decent amount of talent when it comes to the fine motor skills needed for clipping. Needless to say, we now have three fresh trace clips and a bib clip roaming about the farm. :-)
I look forward to a successful New Year at the farm - full of happiness and peace. To continually improving ourselves, as horsewomen, as barn managers, and as a farm. Happy New Year to all our friends, and we look forward to 2013!
